Koinonia Restoration House

Healthy connection

Relationship & Family Care

Relationship and family care is faith-based support for couples, families, and the relational patterns that shape our lives. Because lasting healing happens in authentic relationship, Dr. Lori Dunn helps you understand old patterns, repair connection, and build the healthy, honest closeness that God designed us for.

Why relationships are where we heal

We are made for koinonia — deep, authentic fellowship. So it makes sense that our deepest wounds and our richest healing both happen in relationship. The way we bonded early in life quietly shapes how we trust, argue, withdraw, and love today.

Relationship and family care helps you see those patterns clearly and compassionately — not to assign blame, but to understand the roots and choose something healthier. When old wounds are tended, connection can be rebuilt on honesty, safety, and grace.

This care is Christ-centered throughout, inviting God into the relationships He cares about most.

What to expect

What working on relationships looks like

We start by listening to the story beneath the surface tension — what each person longs for and fears, and how earlier experiences taught us to protect ourselves. From there we work toward understanding, repair, and new patterns of connecting.

Compassionate care brings insight; inner healing prayer can bring God’s comfort and truth into the relational wounds that drive our reactions. The aim is connection that is genuinely healthy — rooted in grace, honest, and free.

Care moves at a pace that honors everyone involved, and never promises a particular outcome. The invitation is simply toward healthier, more authentic relationship.

Common questions

Questions about relationship & family care

Do you help couples and marriages? +

Yes — faith-based support for couples is part of relationship and family care, focused on rebuilding trust, communication, and closeness. This is pastoral, faith-based support, not licensed clinical marriage therapy.

Why do you focus so much on relationships? +

Because healing happens in relationship. The word koinonia means deep fellowship, and authentic connection — with God, ourselves, and others — is the soil real growth grows in.

Can you help with family patterns I keep repeating? +

Yes. We gently trace the roots of recurring patterns, bring them into God’s light, and work toward healthier ways of relating that you can carry into your family.
